...BE THE DREAM OF A GOOD MAN

A man of your dream needs to be happy with you! As a lady you need these tools:
  1. Say nice things to his ear, touch him, hold his hand unexpectedly or hug him from behind. Men love these things.
  2. Women should have opinions, because debating over issues are important. A man that loves you will love your opinions and he will giggle inside at your crazy ideas for the universe.
  3. Do not ever say “whatever it is, you like, I also like". The King wants a Queen and a Queen is not quiet. Speak out your mind and he will smile, maybe not at the time, but sooner or later. Tell him jokes and secrets.
  4. Men love freedom, let them have it, know the right time to talk to him about it, Let him hang with his friends. Do not be overly jealous. You fell in love with him because he was unique and had a great life. You are part of it now but do not take away his original life. If you want him to stay happy you will encourage his freedom. At the same time, don't be a pushover, set your ground rules and joke with him about it.
  5. Let him know how lucky you are to have him, tell him nice and lovely things, tell him he is looking handsome. He smells nice; make him feel he can be around you all day long. Don’t have the mentality that it is only guys that are supposed to buy you gifts; buy him nice and lovely things. Try and turn the table around and see his reaction. I know you will say "isn't he supposed to buy me gifts?" Well yes but if you want him to be happy and you’re not greedy then go to the store and buy him a gift. It is so nice when a man gets his gift and he smiles. Whatever you do, do not buy things for yourself at the same time you purchased his. MAKE IT A SURPRISE PACKAGE!!!
  6. Don't forget to always have that smiling face; no man wants a miserable boring girl. Smiling is contagious, positive attitude is needed to make your man contented. Love him and show him you love him. Effort goes a long way, and it may seem like a lot of work but if you do these things then in return he will give effort and make you happy. In conclusion, always tell him you love him whenever you conclude words with him either on phone or in open conversation.

Ways to self improvement!!!

It’s time we stopped thinking of self improvement as a new sweep of lipstick, hair cut or wardrobe overhaul and started remembering that improving ourselves goes more than skin deep. From being a better friend, making peace with your parents to improving your own wellbeing, start making improvements from within with this 10 ways to self improvement and emerge a more fulfilled, happier person.

1. Keep your dignity

It’s not easy in this binge-drinking, social networking, desperate to get ahead society to keep your dignity but try it and you’ll be respected, successful and people will love you all the more for it. Having dignity is knowing who you are and what you stand for and not swaying from those principles no matter what those around you are doing. People with dignity don’t need to brag, show off or draw attention to themselves because they are not interested in what others think, they are too busy getting on with their own lives and being happy with themselves to be concerned with following the crowd. You don’t need to be prudish and superior, have fun, just don’t lose control and make a prat of yourself.

2. Forgive your parents

There comes a time in every adult’s life when you have to stop resenting and blaming the people who raised you and simply forgive and forget. Yes, your parents may have made your childhood and even adulthood a misery and yes, they may continue to be completely oblivious to the constant annoyance, guilt and misery they cause you but, by continuing to hold onto the blame and resentment you feel towards them you will only make yourself miserable and angry and there is only one person responsible for how you feel and that’s you.

Author of the international bestseller The Rules Of Life, Richard Templar offers some words of advice when it comes to trying to forgive your parents, ‘As offspring you do have a duty to be respectful. You have a responsibility to treat them (your parents) kindly and be more than they are by being forgiving and non-judgemental. You can rise above your upbringing.’

3. Share your time and talent

We’ve become so concerned with having full, busy lives and being popular that it’s easy to forget how to be a good friend, or even a good person. Everyone is busy, that’s what living is, and if we weren’t we’d be sat on the sofa watching Friends reruns every night. Don’t hang onto your time like it’s a sacred thing, share it and share your knowledge while you’re at it. Everyone knows something about something and has at least one skill they can share with others, whether that’s DIY, sewing, speaking a language, playing an instrument or writing beautifully. It’s important to pass on what you know and not give in to that feeling of having the upper hand just because you know something no one else does. Try it, you’ll feel good about yourself, have fun and learn something new.

4. Feel the fear

We all have our comfort zones and there’s nothing wrong with that but refuse to step outside of it every once in a while and your life will become stagnant and dull. Challenging and frightening ourselves regularly not only injects us with a new found love of life and feeling of self-confidence, it also prepares us for those unexpected moments when life takes a turn for the worst. By doing something that scares us regularly, we realise that we can handle those tough situations and life won't seem as stressful as it would if you walk through it with blinkers on. In his bestselling book, Fear – The Friend Of Exceptional People, BAFTA winner and author Geoff Thompson calls tackling the fear of the unknown exposure therapy and discusses how visualising yourself succeeding and failing will help anyone tackle something that terrifies them; ‘Plan ahead: don’t enter blind. Imagine the good, the bad and the ugly. I always pictured myself the victor and used this as inspiration. I also looked at the worst-case scenario and visualised myself handling that gracefully.’

5. Be a better friend

Research shows that if you have five or more friends you are a happier person so being a better friend will not only make you a better person, it will also make you a happier one too. You might well be thinking, ‘well, I’m OK I have tons of friends’ but how good a friend are you really? Do you regularly cancel plans with your friends? Or leave the planning to someone else? Or do you ever bitch about or criticize your friends behind their back? Being a good friend does mean being honest with your friends but it doesn’t involve saying something mean. Gretchen Rubin, author of The Happiness Project devoted an entire month to improving her friendships and describes how doing good deeds for others is more important than others doing good deeds for you. ‘I get more satisfaction out of thinking about good deeds I’ve done for other people than I do from thinking about good deeds that other people have done for me. It’s a secret of Adulthood: Do good, feel good.’

6. Join a library

If you haven’t been in the library since you were at school you’re in for a big surprise. The days of rows upon rows of worn, dated books are long gone. These days libraries not only have Wi-Fi, computers, cafes and bestsellers, they have language CDs, music CDs, the latest DVDs and even e-books for your e-reader. As well as saving you money, you’ll also discover books you never would have come across if you were just browsing online and you’ll be helping the environment by re-using books too. Most libraries now host book clubs, writing workshops and poetry clubs too so they’re a great way to meet other people and learn new skills.

7. Pursue a passion

All of us have at least one dream that makes us gaze into the distance and think, ‘yes, one day, that’s what I’d like to do’. Well, what’s stopping you? OK, adult responsibilities and money probably, but tweak your dream to make it more realistic and you could still pursue your passion. After all, it was C. S. Lewis who said ‘You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream’. Always fancied yourself as a master chef or restaurant owner? Start a dinner club and compete against your friends and colleagues at dinner parties. Want to write a book? Start or join a writing club. Want to learn how to play an instrument?
Rent one and ask a family member to pay for a couple of lessons for you for a birthday present (or see rule 3. Pursuing your passion will not only make you happier but it will help put other things in perspective; your crappy job won’t seem so crappy, your boyfriend actually isn’t that annoying, it’s just that your unhappiness is making you grumpy and you’ll find that you’re actually more brave that you thought you were for taking that leap and trying something new.

8. Switch off the TV

How much time do you spend a week watching television? When you add up all of those hours sat on the sofa, you may be shocked. TV has gone from being a form of entertainment and way to relax to a mere distraction from reality. Switching on the TV every evening and weekend allows us to switch off from our own lives and the problems that exist within it such as a stressful or mundane career, loneliness and low self-esteem. As well as giving us an excuse to ignore unresolved issues, TV stops us from communicating effectively. We used to sit down and have real conversations instead of watching television but these days, it’s rare that you will sit and speak to someone without checking or glancing at your phone, the internet, or TV. Try setting yourself a time limit for your weekly TV viewing and see what you can achieve in the time you would have wasted. That might be calling a friend or family member, going for a walk or reading a book. You’ll soon realise just how much you’ve been missing out on.

9. Go swimming

Swimming has numerous health benefits and if you haven’t yet found a form of exercise that you enjoy then you should take a deep breath, buy a costume that you feel good in and take the plunge. As well as being a great non-impact form of exercise, swimming is a great stress reliever. The contact with the water coupled with the regular rhythm and concentration of the stroke acts like a form of meditation helping to ease away the stress and worries that have built up throughout the day. You can also burn between 200 and 300 calories from just 30 minutes of swimming and it helps to tone your entire body rather than just one muscle group making it a great all-round sport.

10. Become an early bird

Going to bed earlier and getting up before the rest of the world can be incredibly liberating and is a great way to start the day. The next time Saturday comes around, get up at your normal weekday time and go straight out for a walk, even if it’s only a leisurely stroll to Newspapers. You’ll feel as if you’ve accomplished something instead of just sleeping in and waking up groggy and set the tone for the rest of the weekend. If you’re one of those people who often feels guilty when you’re doing nothing, getting up early will also make you feel as if you deserve to relax with a coffee and a chat to a loved one later in the morning.

Always thank God for each phase of your life!

  • If you are poor then someone is heavily in debt.
  • If you don't have a car then someone else does not have two legs.
  • If you are ill, then someone else have been bedridden for years.
  • If you have lost a parent then someone else has lost both parents in a single accident.

Tomorrow, before you say an unkind word, think of those that can't speak.......Think of someone who has to use a sign language to tell his family he loves them.

Before you complain about the taste of your food, Think of someone who has nothing to eat.

When you're frustrated because you cannot decide what food you should cook, Remember that there is a woman in Somalia who cannot decide which of her children she should give the little food she has while the other is left to die.

Before you complain about your husband and wife, Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion.

Before you complain about life, Think about someone who died too early in this life, someone, somewhere, really wish to be in your position.

'' Your current position is someone's else PRAYER POINT, Think! ''.

Before you complain about your children, Think of those who desire children but are barren.

Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn't clean or sweep, Think of the people who are living on the street.

Before whining about the distance you drive, Think of someone who walks the same distance with his feet.

And when you are tired and complaining about your job, Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wish they had your job.

Before you think of pointing fingers or condemning another, Remember that not one of us is without sin,

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down, Put a smile on your face and think :- '' I'M ALIVE, AND STILL AROUND. WITH GOD, IMPOSSIBILITY IS NOTHING! ''.

And learn to say "thank you Lord for each phase of your life."

INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTING

What is a Computer?
A Computer is an electro – mechanical device/machine which accepts data as input. Processes the data according to a set of previously stored instructions called program and produces the result as output in form of information.

Or
A computer is an electronic device that manipulates information, or "data." It has the ability to store, retrieve, and process data. You can use a computer to type documents, send email, and browse the internet. You can also use it to handle spreadsheets, accounting, database management, presentations, games, and more.
Computer accepts data as an input through an input device e.g. keyboard process the data through an output device e.g. monitor/printer.

Computer is defined as an electro – mechanical device/machine because its principle of operation is based on electronics. Computer is a machine because like any other machine, a computer requires a steady supply of energy and skilled personnel for its operation. For instance, the Registers, Counters, RAM, ROM etc all operate on the principle of electronics. However, the movements of papers in the printers, the insertions of diskettes from drive are mechanical.

Data and Information
Data is referred to as raw facts/figure which when processed give us meaningful information. That is, Data are facts that are yet to be processed while information is the result obtained from processed data. For instance, the marks obtained by a particular student in his or her six examination courses are 30, 60, 65, 70, 80 and 40. These figures are raw facts described as data. However, if these marks are added together and the total mark and percentage of the mark scored obtained, then such total and percentage of the mark is the information obtained from the data.

What are the Different Types of Computers?
When most people hear the word "computer" they think of a personal computer such as a desktop or laptop computer. However, computers come in many shapes and sizes, and they perform many different functions in our daily lives. When you withdraw cash from an ATM, buy fuel from a fuel dispenser or use a calculator, you're using a type of computer.

Desktop Computers
Many people use desktop computers at work, home, school, or the library. They can be small, medium, or large in style, and usually sit on a desk. Once you add a monitor, mouse, and a keyboard, you have what is typically known as a Desktop Computer.

Most desktop computers are easy to upgrade and expand, or add new parts. Another benefit of desktop computers is the cost. If you compare a desktop and a laptop with the same features, you will most likely find that the desktop computer is priced lower.
Some desktop computers have a built-in monitor to save space. These are often called all-in-one desktop computers.

Laptop Computers
The second type of computer that you may be familiar with is a Laptop Computer or laptops as they are often referred to. Laptops are battery or AC-powered personal computers that are more portable than desktop computers, allowing you to use them almost anywhere.
Since a laptop is smaller than a desktop, it's more difficult to access the internal components. That means you may not be able to upgrade them as much as a desktop. However, it's usually possible to add more RAM or a bigger hard drive. A laptop computer is sometimes called a notebook computer because of its size.

Servers
A Server is a computer that "serves up" information to other computers on a network. Many businesses have file servers that employees can use to store and share files. A server can look like a regular desktop computer, or it can be much larger.
Servers also play an important role in making the internet work: they are where web pages are stored. When you use your browser to click a link, a web server delivers the page you requested.

Other Types of Computers
Today, there lots of everyday devices that are basically specialized computers, even though we don't always think of them as computers. Here are a few common examples:
  • Tablet Computers: These use a touch-sensitive screen for typing and navigation. Since they don't require a keyboard or mouse, tablet computers are even more portable than laptops. The iPad is an example of a tablet computer.
  • Mobile Phones: Many mobile phones can do a lot of things a computer can do, such as browsing the internet or playing games. These phones are often called Smartphone.
  • Game Consoles: A game console is a specialized kind of computer that is used for playing video games. Although they are not as fully-featured as a desktop computer, many newer consoles, such as the Nintendo Wii, allow you to do non-gaming tasks like browsing the internet.
  • TVs: Many TVs now include applications (or apps) that let you access various types of online content. For example, you can view your Facebook news feed or watch streaming movies on Netflix.

WEB APPLICATIONS AND CLOUD COMPUTING

What is the Cloud?

You may have heard people using terms like the cloud, cloud computing, or cloud storage. But what exactly is the cloud? Basically, the cloud is the internet—more specifically, it's all of the things that you can access remotely over the internet. When something is in the cloud, it means it is stored on servers on the internet, instead of on your computer. It lets you access your calendar, email, files, and more from any computer that has an internet connection. If you've ever used web-based email, then you've used the cloud—all of the emails in your inbox are stored on servers.

However, there are many other services that use the cloud in different ways. Here are just a few examples:
  • ·        Dropbox is a cloud storage service that lets you easily store and share files with other people, and it lets you access your files from a mobile device as well.
  •       Evernote lets you type notes, clip web pages, take photos, and organize all of them from your computer or mobile device.
  • ·        Mozy and Carbonite can automatically back up your data in case your computer is lost, stolen, or damaged.
Why Use the Cloud?

There are many reasons to use the cloud, but the main reasons are convenience and reliability. In the past, if you wanted to bring a file with you, you would have to save it to a USB flash drive, external hard drive, or CD-R disc. Saving a file to the cloud ensures that
you'll be able to access it with any computer that has an internet connection, so you don't have any physical media to keep track of. The cloud also makes it much easier to share a file with coworkers or friends, making it possible to collaborate over the internet. With the cloud, you're much less likely to lose your data, since it is stored on servers. However, just like anything online, there is always a risk that someone may try to gain access to your personal data, so it's important to choose a strong password and pay attention to any privacy settings for the service you're using.

What is a Web App?

Previously, we talked about how desktop applications allow you to perform tasks on your computer. However, there are also web applications (or web apps), which run in the cloud and do not need to be installed on your computer. These are sometimes called cloud apps.

Examples of Web Apps
  • ·        Online Email Services: Services like Gmail and Yahoo! Mail run within your browser and can do many of the same things that email programs like Microsoft Outlook can do. After you sign up for an online email service, you can begin using it immediately—no installation is required. Instead of being stored on your computer, your emails are stored in the cloud.
  • ·        Google Docs: Google Docs is an office suite that runs within your browser. Much like Microsoft Office, you can use it to create documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and more. Your documents are stored in the cloud, which makes it easy to share your documents with other people.
  • ·       Facebook: Facebook lets you create an online profile and interact with your friends. Profiles and conversations are constantly evolving, so Facebook uses web app technologies throughout the site to keep the information up-to-date.

There are also games and other web apps that you can add to your Facebook profile. Web apps are becoming more and more integrated with websites, and it may be hard to distinguish between a web application and a "regular" website. In many cases, you may be using a web application without even knowing it!

How Does Web Apps Work?
When you use a web app, you are working from your computer or mobile device, but much of the actual processing is done by a network of servers. These servers can pool all of their processing power in order to handle requests from all over the world. They also use specialized servers to store the data that you're working with, as well as the data from all of the other users. All of this happens very seamlessly, so it looks almost like the application is running on your computer.

For example, if you open a document with Google Docs, your web browser will communicate with the network of servers to display your document. As you edit the document, your browser will work closely with the servers to make sure everything is kept up-to-date.
